40 years ago, our founder Bill Brooks started The Brooks Group with a mission to help salespeople improve their own lives and the lives of their customers. Since then, we’ve delivered training to over one million sales professionals, in over 350 industries, in 22 countries around the world.

    Bill Brooks begins giving speaking engagements while coaching football and serving as the Dean of Students at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York -- the part-time hobby begins to consume Bill, and the seed for The Brooks Group and IMPACT Selling® is planted

  • 1987

    Bill publishes his first two books, High IMPACT Living and High IMPACT Selling and The Brooks Group moves out of Bill Brooks’ home

  • 1989

    Bill publishes High IMPACT Public Speaking and High IMPACT Time Management due to the success of High IMPACT Selling

  • 1991

    Bill is hired by a client in Dallas to serve as President of a large sales-driven organization -- in this role Bill sees that his sales effectiveness principles not only work, they explode the company’s growth

    Bill brings The Brooks Group back to Greensboro and publishes Niche Selling: How to Find Your Customer in a Crowded Market

  • 1995

    Bill works with friend and leading researcher, Tom Travisano, to publish You’re Working Too Hard to Make the Sale

    Bill Brooks publishes the best-selling book, The New Science of Selling and Persuasion and How to Sell at Margins Higher than Your Competitors

  • 2007

    Air National Guard partners with The Brooks Group to use the IMPACT Selling System and TriMetrix® assessments for their recruitment and retention efforts.

    Bill Brooks and Will Brooks release new book: Playing Bigger than You Are

    The Brooks Group makes the list of Top 20 Sales Training Companies from both Selling Power and Training Industry

    Bill Brooks (1945-2007) was posthumously inducted into the first-ever class of the Sales Hall of Fame.
